Project Management
Championing a strategic vision that bridges communication gaps between public servants across nine divisions requires proactive and adaptive project management grounded in human-centric principles.
House of Comms: A Unified Communications Hub
Case Study
By combining technical implementation with inclusive planning and project rigor, we delivered “House of Comms”—a high-impact communications platform that meets real organizational needs. Our team’s ability to translate strategic goals into operational tools, while keeping user needs at the forefront, demonstrates our strength in end-to-end project management, cross-functional leadership, and scalable, sustainable project management.
-
With communication channels spread across multiple systems and teams operating in silos, our center’s nine divisions lacked a centralized hub for internal updates, resources, and collaboration. This fragmentation made it difficult for staff to find timely information, align with leadership priorities, and to work consistently.
As organizational complexity increased—especially during pivotal moments and periods of change—so did the risks of miscommunication, duplication of effort, and increased staff disengagement.
-
To address this challenge, our team led the design and implementation of a central communications platform on MS Teams via SharePoint.
“House of Comms” is guided by structured project management principles. It serves as a single source of truth for internal communications resources, templates, and assets. Key steps in its development included:
Discovery & Requirements Gathering
Conducted interviews and surveys with key players to identify pain points and needs.
Created user personas and content journey maps to inform site structure and information architecture.
Planning & Governance
Developed a project charter, timeline, and phased implementation plan with clear milestones, roles, and success criteria.
Established a cross-functional working group to ensure ongoing input and alignment from IT, communications, and end users.
Design & Implementation
Built custom workflows for content reviews, publishing, version control, and lifecycle management to ensure consistent governance.
Change Management & Training
Launched onboarding campaign including training sessions, quick-start guides, and demos.
Integrated feedback loops through surveys and checkpoints to adapt the platform based on user input.
-
“House of Comms” transformed how we connect, share, and collaborate:
Increased Efficiency & Clarity
Reduced email volume and duplicated messages by centralizing key updates and resources.
Improved staff confidence in finding accurate, up-to-date information through a single, well-structured hub.
Improved Cross-Functional Collaboration
Enabled alignment with consistent messaging and easy access to shared tools and content.
Supported enterprise-wide initiatives with integrated content calendars, feedback forms, and publishing workflows.
Sustainable Governance
Embedded scalable systems for content ownership, approvals, and periodic audits—ensuring long-term sustainability.
Positioned the platform as a foundational piece of infrastructure for future change and crisis communication efforts.
